OSE Engineering develops advanced scientific calculation algorithms for its clients in various fields (maritime, automotive, energy). OSE Engineering is organised into 3 areas of expertise:

  • Modelling & Simulation,

  • As part of its growth and the strengthening of its modelling and simulation activities, OSE Engineering is actively looking for a Mechanical and Dynamic Modelling Engineer whose main missions are:
  • Development and deployment of model-based system engineering,
  • Development of models (analytical and/or numerical) to guarantee the mechanical properties (static and/or dynamic) of various elements.

  • Do you have a proven experience in static and dynamic mechanical engineering? Are you an expert in finite elements modelling tools and methodologies? Have you studied and designed complex systems?
    Then join us to contribute to the development and deployment of tools and innovative methods based on simulation and optimisation.

    Your missions

    Immediately:

  • Static and dynamic thermomechanical 3D modelling of an element within the energy chain of a complex system (benchmark of different codes to be performed),
  • Development of geometrical optimisation algorithms for this component,
  • Dispersion analysis of the component according to various boundary conditions and geometrical specifications (due to variations in manufacturing conditions),
  • Ageing analysis of the component all along its use life,
  • Supervision of experimental tests,
  • Model validation using experimental results,
  • 0D-1D modelling of the component within the energy chain.
  • Short term:

  • Participation in pre-project meetings/project costing,
  • Translation of customer needs into technical specifications,
  • Autonomous development of other clients’ projects.
  • Skills/Qualifications

  • Engineering degree, master’s degree or PhD degree in Structural Mechanics.
  • Good knowledge in physics of energy systems,
  • Proven experience in finite element mechanical modelling and simulation,
  • Passion for Research and Development, analytical mindset and rigour,
  • Skills in fluid mechanics (CFD) and project management will be appreciated,
  • Analytical skills,

  • Development and implementation of algorithms in software and applications related to systems control and optimisation based on models developed by our modelling engineers, and numerical solving of complex systems.

    Your missions

    Main duties:

  • Develop and implement algorithms,

  • Position details

    This position is attached to the Computer Science department. The Algorithm Engineer will daily collaborate with multi-functional teams:

  • Internally with other engineers from the Modelling & Simulation, and the Data Science departments,
  • Externally with OSE Engineering’s clients (pre-project meetings, progress meetings, software demonstrations…).
  • This position is fully remote. Visits to customers’ sites are required from time to time.

    Skills/Qualifications

  • Engineer’s degree or master’s degree with at least 2 year’s experience in similar positions. Specific examples of past accomplishments will be appreciated.
  • Strong knowledge in programming language (Matlab, Python + numpy + scipy, Julia, …),
  • Familiar with graphical user interface development tools (AppDesigner for Matlab, Qt for Python, ...),
  • Autonomous and problem-solving mindset,

  • Development of advanced algorithms for energy optimisation and supervision of the whole system,
